Cortney came to N2 Solutions with a background in operations, coordination, and hands-on project support. Over the years, from bigger companies like Stranco, Green’s Energy and others, he's learned the importance of staying organized, communicating clearly, and focusing on what needs to be done to help the team succeed. Cortney's work as a project manager involves collaborating closely with field crews, vendors, and clients to keep projects moving safely and efficiently. He tries to step back and see the bigger picture; how each piece of a project fits together; so his team can use their time, equipment, and people most effectively. Cortney approaches every project with a practical mindset: listen first, solve problems as they arise, and follow through on commitments.
As a Project Manager, Cortney helps support projects from the beginning to the end. He works with the team to turn initial requests into competitive proposals and stay involved even after a job is awarded; coordinating with clients, vendors, and field teams for a smooth start. During execution, his team tracks progress, monitors daily costs, and adjusts plans to stay aligned with expectations & budgets. Cortney's goal is simple: provide steady oversight, keep communication open, and help set projects up for success throughout.
Over his 10 years with N2 Solutions, Cortney focuses on supporting projects safely and efficiently while helping teams succeed. Along the way, he's earned several accreditations and certifications, and has been a part of teams recognized with safety awards for maintaining high standards on challenging jobs. Some projects he has contributed to include Chevron’s Bigfoot Project, Oceaneering’s Subsea Pipeline Remediation, and the GulfStar1 Topsides Launch. These experiences have taught him the value of planning, attention to detail, and teamwork, lessons he tries to carry into every project he manages.
Cortney tries to bring the same mindset to work and life: be prepared, dependable, and supportive of those around him. Professionally, that means keeping projects organized and running smoothly. Personally, Cortney stays engaged with his community through music, live performance, and events that celebrate history and storytelling. These experiences have taught him teamwork, adaptability, and the value of connecting with people - all of which help him support his teams at N2 Solutions. Outside of work, Cortney is passionate about music and performance. He's performed at Renaissance Faires along the Gulf Coast, led community music events, and recorded a multi-CD discography spanning several genres. Some of this work has been recognized with local and regional awards for performance. These experiences not only fuel Cortney's creativity but also teach lessons in collaboration and improvisation that translate to managing projects and teams.
"Looking back, the lessons I’ve learned—both on the job and through personal pursuits—come down to a few simple principles: be reliable, pay attention to details, and keep the bigger picture in mind. Whether coordinating a complex project or performing for an audience, listening, adapting, and staying consistent are what make the work meaningful. I hope to continue learning and helping both projects and people succeed. "
